Upcoming work on Fleckney Road
What are we doing?
A while ago, we replaced the leaky water pipes in your area with new ones, and the work was
successfully completed. The old pipe passed under the canal bridge on Newton Lane and now
needs to be removed.

Important information
In order to access the pipe and remove it safely, we’ll need to close the road.
• Newton Lane will be closed for five days from Monday 12 January 2026 between the Glen
Road junction and the Leicester Road/Kibworth Road/Kilby Road junction (the Wistow
crossroads).
• The road will be accessible from either end up to the closure but vehicles will not be allowed
through. The canal towpath will remain open.
We know it’s a nuisance when we need to close a road and we’re sorry for any inconvenience. We’re
working alongside the Canal and Rivers Trust and please be assured that our team will carry out the
work as quickly as safely possible.
